Female Gamers: Hot or Not?
We’ve written a lot about girl gamers here at Play Girlz, being that we are girl gamers. And recently, Robyn over at Gaming and Tech wrote a post about female gamers being overrated. Not the general population of female gamers, but rather, the ones portrayed by the gaming industries as being supermodels with game controllers.
Are these portrayals realistic? No. Necessary? No.
Is it not enough that females in games are already portrayed so amazingly unrealistically as to defy the very laws of nature, physics, and common sense, that now gamer chicks have to abide by these same expectations?
I mean, really. Guys. Most of you aren’t Chippendales yourselves. Let us unite in reality: odds are that most gamer chicks don’t look like your favorite Hooters waitress. And I, for one, am glad that I don’t have breasts that defy the forces of gravity, as it would be very difficult to adjust my bra and simultaneously kick your ass at video games.
You can’t have it both ways.

Hey, I didn’t mean there weren’t beautiful gamer chicks out there! I just meant, you know, they’re not all supermodel-beautiful. There’s a difference. ;)

Maybe it’s just the idea of a girl who plays Video Games automatically equates her (in the Heterosexual male segment of the gaming community) to supermodelesque status… maybe

Yeah, I agree with Hazle; any girl who takes an interest in video games, my favorite hobby, is automatically attractive to me, no matter what. It also helps that, in general, most girls who are at all into video games do tend to be on the intelligent side as well, which never hurts.

My wife, although not a hardcore gamer, is a gamer and is beautiful. So they do exist.
It may be easier to find the beautiful woman and slowly turn her into a gaming girl. My suggestion would be to use drugs and hypnosis. And more drugs.
Just kidding.

My g/f is a gamer as well and I personally think that she is very beautiful. However there is a great deal of immaturity in closeted male gamers when it comes to girls in my region and she has had a couple of guys who know markedly less about games and computers then her find her exceptionally attractive due to her knowledge. In both cases I believe they were thinking this before they even found out what she looked like.
The irony of the situation is that she has a wider knowledge of games then I do and I develop games for a living.

I play Video games all the darn time and while I know I’m not Supermodel status I have yet to date a guy who broke up with me first.Now the idea that all video gamer girls are supermodels is not entirely correct but the idea that they are more or less guys is also wrong.
and when i say I play games I don’t mean kid games..I play World of Warcraft,Guitar Hero’s,The Halo’s and my fav is the Resident Evil’s..So also the Idea that only girls can play chick games is wrong too

I am a gamer chick I may not have the looks of a godess but I am not ugly. I also kick ass on Halo games. I would not say that all Gamer chicks are ugly, there is actually realy pretty ones out there. I also have a thing for gamer guys lol even know I am married I love to talk to the guys who cant keep there mouth shut about Halo 1 2 and 3 lol.

Ok so I love video games…..Im huge on Halo 3 Gears of War and Rainbow six…and yes I have been called a mexican blond. Buts its not because I dont understand its just because I dont care enough about you to pay attention…So when I play with guys that claim I need to go and get my weekley manicure…I enjoy when at the end I of the game I can say…”Now what..I think you just got owened big mouth…”
